You're The Best Kept Secret

In Your Industry.

By Jessica Crane | October 2026 | 6 min read

It's time to stop being the best kept secret in your space.

It's October. The dark mornings have arrived, the last quarter of the year is underway, and you're sitting on a business that's genuinely working.

You clients love you. Your results are real. When someone finds you, they stay.

And still, if we're honest, most of your industry has no idea who you are.

The Problem Nobody Calls By Its Name

You're built something brilliant. And you're quietly assuming the work will speak for itself.

Here's what actually happens instead. The work speaks to the people who already follow you. Everyone else in your industry hears from the women who show up boldly, post consistently, get on stages and say interesting things. Some of them have less experience, less confidence. Some have less expertise than you.

And it isn't a secret. It isn't a fair or a cruel. Playing it safe gets rewarded less. But what competitors with half your ability will do is show up and be seen, purely because those decisions aren't keeping your name.

Invisibility always has a cost. It's just very expensive.

Why This Happens

Most female founders aren't invisible because they're shy. They're invisible because somewhere along the way they've learned that promoting yourself is a bit cringe-worthy. That good work should need no explanation.

So you stay busy. Doing the work. Serving the clients, perfecting the offer. And telling yourself you'll be more visible once you have the time, once you've got more clarity, once nobody could possibly question you.

The truth is, you're never going to feel ready. The only thing that's holding you back is your discomfort with being seen.

What You Can Do This Week (For Free)

  1. Pick one platform and show up properly

Not everywhere. One. The one where your actual buyers spend time. Then show up there consistently, with a clear point of view, not just what you do, but why it matters and what you stand for.

  2. Share your point of view, not just your services

Nobody connects with a price list. They connect with how you see your industry. What you disagree with. What you'd tell a founder over coffee. One strong opinion per week will outperform a month of polished service posts.

  3. Get yourself in real rooms

Screens build awareness, but rooms build relationships. Find one room this quarter where the women in it are your ideal clients, your ideal collaborators, or people who could genuinely open doors for you. Real conversations. One real room can change your whole referral network.

Do these three things and something shifts. A stranger arrives from someone you've never spoken to. A stranger references something you posted. And you start to feel what visibility actually is. Not shouting, but being findable by the right people.

And on that third point. Some rooms are worth more than others, and finding them on your own is slow. That's exactly why I build one.

Where The SheEO Annual Event Comes In

Every November, SheEO Collective brings together a room of ambitious female founders for two days at The Lowry Hotel in Manchester. This year's focus is the power of presence, building a business that has presence everywhere it matters. In front of the exact women you want to know you exist.

Why The Room Matters

TRANSFORMATIONAL DAYS

REAL

CONNECTIONS THAT MATTER

1 ROOM

OF ENDLESS POSSIBILTIES

Because here's the truth about being the best kept secret. The fix isn't more posting. It's proximity. The conversations in the right room can do more for your visibility, your confidence and your pipeline than six months of scrolling ever will.

"I've been to a lot of events. This is the one I'll pay ten times the ticket price for, and I keep coming back."

Stacey, repeat SheEO Annual Event attendee

"I walked in knowing nobody and walked out with a community and potential things to build more success in business."

What Actually Changes

What changes when you stop being a secret isn't just the pipeline. It's the Wednesday when a dream client says, "I've been following you for ages." It's the moment you get asked to speak, the introduction, the checking in. It's building a business that has presence everywhere it matters, and a calendar full of women worth being in.

The work was never the problem. The hiding was.

If you've been the best kept secret long enough.

The SheEO Annual Event takes place on 22 and 23 November 2026 at The Lowry Hotel, Manchester, with General and VIP experiences available. Come and spend two days in a room full of founders who are serious about growth, and find out what your next level, seen, not just achieved, actually looks like.

No more excuses, no more waiting for the perfect time. Visibility isn't about being everywhere. It's about being where it matters.
